As an operational subteam, we play a crucial role on the team by helping our technical subteams have the funds and resources necessary to function. FIRST has various awards that are given out to teams and individuals that satisfy certain requirements. Awards include:
- FIRST Impact Award
- The FIRST Impact Award (formerly the Chairman's Award) is the most prestigious award at FIRST, it honors the team that best represents a model for other teams to emulate and best embodies the mission of FIRST. It was created to keep the central focus of FIRST Robotics Competition on the ultimate goal of transforming the culture in ways that will inspire greater levels of respect and honor for science and technology, as well as encouraging more of today’s youth to become science and technology leaders.
- Digital Animation Award
- This award celebrates the art of digital animation and its close relationship to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics). This award celebrates the art of digital animation and its close relationship to STEAM.
- FIRST Dean’s List Award
- In an effort to recognize the leadership and dedication of the most outstanding secondary school students in FIRST, the Kamen family sponsors awards for selected 10th or 11th grade* students.
- Safety Animation Award
- The FIRST Robotics Competition's Safety Animation Award challenges teams to use creativity to encourage safe practices and influence emotions and actions.
- Woodie Flowers Finalist Award
- The Woodie Flowers Award celebrates effective communication in the art and science of engineering and design. Dr. William Murphy founded this prestigious award in 1996 to recognize mentors within the FIRST Robotics Competition who lead, inspire, and empower using excellent communication skills.
Outreach Initiatives:
These initiatives mainly include our two summer robotics programs: RoboCamps and FalconCamps, rookie VEX team mentoring, Moco-support (advocacy), and community outreach events such as Poolesville Day or other opportunities that come up during the year.
Advertisement:
Business strives to improve the team’s social media presence to make it more visible to other FRC teams and sponsors. We use primarily Instagram and Tiktok to showcase our competition experience, advertise for camps, and highlight any other major events. Go follow us @frc4099‼️
