This section will go more in depth into the various outreach efforts our team makes each year. This will be split into 3 categories: RoboCamps, FalconCamps and Community Events.
RoboCamps
RoboCamps is a summer camp that the team runs in the summer. This weeklong camp is geared towards students ages 8-14 and has 4 sessions. In this camp students use VEX IQ kits to create and program a robot. More information about the camp can be found here: https://www.team4099.com/programs/robocamps/. There are 4 things we do to make sure we are ready to hold the camp in the summer:
Crucial step for legally running RoboCamps. More details can be found _____________
This is usually done by having a meeting once a week until we determine that the curriculum is sufficiently instructive and engaging.
This is also a critical component as RoboCamps is an in person camp. This involves emailing schools to request for space for the summer camp as well as responding to any questions that the location has.
Advertising is the last item on this list, but it is equally important as the other two activities. In the past, we have used two main types of advertising: in-person advertising and emailing schools, PTAs, and PTSAs with flyers that we have created, so that they can distribute them to their parents and students.
FalconCamps
FalconCamps is a virtual summer camp that the team runs in the summer. This weeklong camp is geared towards middle and high school students has 4 sessions. In this camp students can learn robot design and/or programming (which are 2 different sessions) in the context of competitive robotics. Design and programming have both beginner and intermediate sessions. More information about the camp can be found here: https://www.team4099.com/programs/falconcamps/.
