Awards and Milestones

2020

• First year fully utilizing CAD before building the robot, leading to significant design improvements
• Quarterfinalists at the Haymarket Week 1 competition
• Moved to a larger work and meeting space at a local church, expanding our capabilities
• Online season due to Covid; introduced FalconCamps, an online program to teach FRC-geared programming (Java) and design (Onshape) with a significant reach
• Mentored rookie Team 8006 from California, leading to their regional win in 2022
• Provided technical guidance and financial sponsorship to Team 40990A Dark Knights
• Participated in Hallie Wells STEAM Fair, showcasing engineering with VEX IQ robots

2021

• Continued to operate during the online season, Infinite Recharge at Home
• Stored our CNC machine at a local church, allowing for more efficient part production
• Innovated with a subsystem structure to give newer members leadership roles
• Sent home kits for remote assembly and learning
• Combined Programming and Electrical subteams into Controls for better resource utilization
• Experimented successfully with 3D printing parts
• Switched RoboCamps to online format, teaching students STEM skills culminating in a final competition
• Won the District Chairman’s Award
